Besides being an unusual celestial event, what is a blood moon or a tetrad to the average man in the street? If you have been one of those people who wonder whether God speaks, or how he speaks, then this might be a good time to take notice.
The evening of the 7/8th October, 2014 is the night of the second blood moon of the current tetrad. It falls between the Day of the Atonement, Yom Kippur, and the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles which begins on the evening of the 9th October 2014.
A tetrad is a series of four lunar eclipses known as blood moons, each separated by six lunar months – or six full moons. This present tetrad is fascinating Christians and Jews around the world because of its possible “End Times” prophetic significance.
The term Blood Moon has only recently been applied to the moon in full eclipse. That is when it is obscured by the earth’s shadow and the penumbra causes the moon to take on a reddish glow. Writers such as Mark Blitz and John Haggee have popularised the phrase taken from Biblical prophecy, which speaks of the moon being turned to blood.
There are three good reasons why it is believed that God is speaking through this event.
- The Bible says in Genesis that God placed the sun, moon and the stars in the heavens to divide day from night, for signs and for seasons. Genesis 1:1
- The Jewish feasts were given to the children of Israel through Moses. These feasts were symbolic and prophetic and they served as a vital channel of communication between God and his chosen people.
- The term ‘moon turned to blood‘ is a phrase used often in the Bible. It signifies events in the last days before the return of Christ to earth. The last seven years of the ‘end times’ will be a time of turmoil in which, during the last three-and-a-half years God will pour his judgment out on an apathetic and rebellious world.
If God is Speaking…
If we hear, for example, that a hurricane is coming we are able to use the warning to batten down the hatches. According to the Torah, a lunar eclipse is a sign of warning to the Jews and a solar eclipse to the Gentile nations. There are two solar eclipses scheduled to take place during this tetrad and both also occur at the time of a Jewish feast. Therefore, the warning appears to be both to the Jews and to the Gentile nations.
The fact that these “Blood Moons” are each linked to Jewish feast day is unusual. This has happened only eight times since the time of Christ’s crucifixion and each of these instances has held some event of major significance for the Jewish people.
It appears as though God has placed exceptional emphasis on this particular tetrad.
The moon being “turned to blood” is mentioned several times in the Bible and in each case the event is of prophetic significance. When there are four such events separated by the six lunar months, it is far more unusual. In this instance, the lunar events are linked to Passover, 2014, Tabernacles, 2014, Passover, 2015, Tabernacles, 2015.
The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashannah, also saw the beginning of the Shemittah year. The Jews keep the Sabbath as a seventh day of rest, the Shemittah is a Sabbath year. During that year, among other things, debts are cancelled, slaves are set free, and the land should be left to lie fallow. In centuries past, failure to follow these rules was the reason for God allowing the dispersion of his people.
But there is another interesting emphasis in the October 8th blood moon. It is a harvest moon, also known as the Hunter’s Moon. In itself, a Hunter’s moon is often spoken of as a ‘blood moon‘ because its low position in the sky causes a reddish hue as it is seen through the earth’s atmosphere. Orion, the Hunter is best seen during the winter months in the northern hemisphere and, no doubt, the Hunter’s moon is linked to this heavenly symbol. The first hunter known to man was Nimrod, son of Cush (Genesis 10:8,9). All of the ancient gods and goddesses are linked in some way to Nimrod and his wife, Semiramis. The first rebellion against God after the flood came from Nimrod, who was also the first man to wage war.
Between four blood moons, there are three sixes of moons, a reminder of the 666 of Revelation. Six is the Biblical number representing man. Three sixes show man elevating himself to the status of a god.
Recently, the Islamic State, ISIS, put out a call to all Muslims to kill indiscriminately across the world. The killer group of fundamentalist Muslims are well named. Isis, the consort of Osiris is also Semiramis, the huntress.
Let us be awake and aware. The novel, Opus Dei, warns of the things, according to prophecy, which shortly must take place. Nimrod Twice Born is the conspiracy from the time of the Crucifixion that is about to reach full fruition.
