Vanessa Lapa has directed a film documentary on Reichsführer-SS, Heinrich Himmler, based on his own diaries and letters to his wife. Lapa’s title, “The Decent One” paints the architect of the Final Solution in a new, if unconvincing, light; a personal whitewash that would have delighted the heart of Reichsheini. Nevertheless clever usage of archival footage, in contrast with Himmler’s somewhat banal words, give a far clearer picture of the man behind the Jewish holocaust.

Using documented material in combination with circumstantial evidence, the novel, Nimrod Twice Born by Lyn J Pickering, throws light on the secret life of Heinrich Himmler. History hints at things behind the scenes in Himmler’s Wewelsburg Castle, where he and his coven of twelve Obergruppenführer manipulated the events of the Second World War for their own nefarious purposes. At the heart of Wewelsburg was the Realm of the Dead. Its brick-domed ceiling climaxed in a swastika design beneath which a sacred flame was kept burning day and night.
